Ingredients

  • Sugar 25 oz
  • Wheat Flour 10 oz
  • Chocolate eggs 6 pieces
  • Sour Cream 15 oz
  • Cocoa Powder 0 oz
  • Butter 0 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

I start by whisking the eggs with sugar, then add the flour and let the dough rest for a bit. From this dough, we will bake round cookies.

Step 2

I take a baking sheet, lay parchment paper on it, and simultaneously turn on the oven to preheat to 180–390°F.

Step 3

I take a teaspoon, scoop some dough with it, and carefully slide it onto the paper on the baking sheet, filling the entire sheet with these little pancakes. Make sure to leave space between each pancake, as the dough will spread a bit. We place it in the oven for about 5–7 minutes; they should turn golden brown. The most important thing is to quickly remove them from the oven with a spatula and place them in a container or on a newspaper; if you leave them too long, they will stick and be hard to remove later. So, our cookies are baked, now let's prepare the soaking.

Step 4

For the cake soaking: sour cream and sugar. The proportions are up to you. I take a small container, add the sour cream, start adding sugar, mix (you can whip it) and taste it periodically to ensure it’s not too sweet. Take a pancake and spread the soaking on each side (don’t dip, but spread!) and arrange them on a plate in a circular pattern to form the shell in a checkerboard style. Don’t forget to place the head, four legs, and tail first, and then add the shell on top.

Step 5

To cut out the tail and claws on the legs, you need to: when you take the last batch of pancakes out of the oven, take a few and cut out small shapes with a knife; your imagination will guide you on how to make the tail and legs. BUT — it’s important to cut them while the pancakes are still warm, because if they cool down, they will just break!

Step 6

Moving on, once everything is arranged, if there is any soaking left, you can pour it over the cake.

Step 7

Now let's prepare the glaze: take a container, place it over a water bath, melt 50 g of butter, add 3 tablespoons of sour cream or milk, then 5 teaspoons of sugar and 2 teaspoons of cocoa powder, stirring, and cook for 10 minutes. Let it cool slightly and then pour it over the cake.

Step 8

For decoration, you can sprinkle coconut flakes in the shape of a heart on top, like I did in my photo.
