  • Corn Starch 5 tablespoons
  • Water 10 fl oz
  • Sugar 20 oz
  • Freshly squeezed orange juice 5 fl oz
  • Rose water 1 teaspoon
  • Pistachios 20 oz
  • Red Food Coloring to taste
  • Powdered Sugar to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with 125 ml of cold water and set aside. In a saucepan, combine sugar with 125 ml of hot water, add orange juice, and bring to a boil. Add the dissolved cornstarch (stirring constantly) and cook for 15 minutes, stirring continuously.

Step 2

Remove the saucepan from the heat, pour in the rose water or lemon juice, add the food coloring, chopped pistachios, and mix everything thoroughly. Pour the resulting mixture into a baking tray with edges and leave it overnight.

Step 3

The next day, use a sharp knife to cut the set mixture into squares. Roll each piece in powdered sugar and store in paper bags.
