  • Wheat Flour 10 oz
  • Sugar 0 oz
  • Baking Powder 0 oz
  • Salt a pinch
  • Butter 5 oz
  • Egg white 1 piece
  • Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
  • Cream 5 fl oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

In a bowl, mix sugar, sifted flour, salt, and baking powder. Add the butter cut into pieces and then crumble everything with a knife or blender.

Step 2

In another bowl, combine the cream, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, and pour into the flour mixture. Mix quickly until a homogeneous consistency is achieved.

Step 3

Transfer the dough to a floured surface, knead lightly, and form it into a ball. Roll it out into a thick circle with a diameter of about 18 cm.

Step 4

Using a round cutter with a diameter of 5–6 cm (dipping it in flour first) or a glass, cut circles from the dough and place them on a baking sheet.

Step 5

Brush the tops of the dough circles with milk or cream.

Step 6

Bake for 15–18 minutes in an oven preheated to 375°F until golden brown. Check for doneness with a wooden stick. Let cool.

Step 7

Serve the scones with jam, clotted cream, or whipped cream. Enjoy your meal!
