Tomato soup with bacon and garlic croutons
Ingredients
- Semi-Smoked Sausage 5 oz
- Onion 1 piece
- Canned Tomatoes (Pelati) 1 can
- Tomatoes 2 pieces
- Orange Bell Peppers 1 piece
- Chicken Broth 15 fl oz
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Salt to taste
- Nut Bread 2 slices
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a heated skillet, add finely chopped onion and bacon, and sauté over medium heat until golden brown in butter.
Step 2
Add canned tomatoes, bell pepper, and finely chopped fresh tomatoes, and simmer over medium heat.
Step 3
Transfer the sautéed mixture to a pot, add chicken broth, and stir. Season with salt and pepper. Cook on low heat for 15 minutes.
Step 4
Cut the bread into strips and mince the garlic.
Step 5
In the skillet, pour a little vegetable oil, add the bread and garlic, and sauté until they become croutons.
Step 6
The soup can be garnished with herbs.
Step 7
The croutons can be lightly peppered.
