Tomato Pie
Ingredients
- Tomatoes 9 pieces
- Onion 3 heads
- Basil 5 oz
- Turnips 2 pieces
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- Margarine 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Mix the flour and 1/2 teaspoon of salt, cut the margarine into pieces and mix it with the flour until it resembles crumbs. Gradually add 5-6 tablespoons of water and stir until a dough forms. Divide the resulting mass into two parts and roll each out to fit the size of the baking tray.
Step 2
For the filling, finely chop the onion and carrots, sauté them, then add the tomatoes and basil, or any other herbs and spices.
Step 3
Place one part of the dough on the baking tray, leaving some extra dough around the edges. Top with the filling and cover with the remaining dough.
Step 4
Bake in the oven at 300°F until a golden crust forms.
