Tiramisu with Mascarpone and Rum
Ingredients
- Egg white 3 pieces
- Mascarpone Cheese Unagrande 10 oz
- Savoiardi Cookies 5 oz
- Ground Coffee 0 oz
- Rum 2 tablespoons
- Sugar 0 oz
- Cocoa Powder to taste
- Salt a pinch
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Separate the egg whites and yolks, placing them in 2 deep bowls. Prepare the coffee and set it aside to cool.
Step 2
Whisk the yolks with half of the sugar, add the mascarpone, and mix until smooth.
Step 3
Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt for 1–2 minutes. Add the remaining sugar and continue to beat for a few minutes until the mixture thickens and forms stiff peaks. Gently fold the egg whites into the cheese-yolk mixture with a spatula until well combined.
Step 4
Add the alcohol to the cooled coffee, mix, and quickly dip the cookies one by one, placing them in a single layer at the bottom of the dish. Top with half of the cream, then another layer of cookies, and another layer of cream.
Step 5
Refrigerate for a few hours, and before serving, dust with cocoa powder or grated chocolate.
