Description

A popular Italian dessert. Delicate, airy, like a cloud! The classic tiramisu recipe uses chicken eggs. If you are afraid to use raw eggs, you can substitute them with quail eggs (they are not susceptible to salmonella). You can buy ladyfinger cookies and mascarpone cheese at any large supermarket.

Ingredients

  • Sugar 5 oz
  • Chocolate eggs 4 pieces
  • Mascarpone Cheese Unagrande 20 oz
  • Ladyfinger Cookies 34 pieces
  • Cocoa Powder 5 oz
  • Instant coffee 10 fl oz
  • Marsala 3 tablespoons

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Whisk the yolks with sugar. Add the mascarpone and mix with a spatula or spoon.

Step 2

Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the egg whites into the yolk and cheese mixture.

Step 3

Dip the cookies into cold coffee. You need to dip them quickly so they don't get soggy. Prepare the coffee to your liking (I added 4 teaspoons of coffee to 350 ml). Optionally, you can add wine, rum, liqueur, brandy, or cognac to the coffee.

Step 4

In a dish (I used a dish measuring 17x25 cm), tightly arrange the coffee-soaked ladyfingers. Spread half of the cream over the cookies and smooth it out. Layer more coffee-soaked ladyfingers on top. Spread the remaining cream over the ladyfingers and smooth it out.

Step 5

Refrigerate for 5–6 hours.

Step 6

Then sift cocoa powder over the top. Cut into portions carefully, as the dessert is very delicate.
