Description
This dessert seems to be centuries old, but it was actually invented in the 1960s and 1970s. It features a layered construction of mascarpone, eggs, and ladyfinger cookies, with a splash of Amaretto liqueur.
Ingredients
- Whole egg 6 pieces
- Egg white 4 pieces
- Sugar 5 oz
- Savoiardi Cookies 15 oz
- Freshly brewed green tea 15 fl oz
- Amaretto Liqueur 2 spoons
- Cocoa Powder 0 oz
- Mascarpone Cheese Unagrande 15 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Using a mixer, beat the egg yolks with half of the sugar until pale in color, which will take about 3 to 4 minutes.
Step 3
Gradually add the mascarpone.
Step 4
In another bowl, beat the egg whites with the remaining sugar until they achieve a glossy texture and stiff peaks.
Step 5
Gently fold the egg whites into the cheese mixture.
Step 6
Add amaretto to the cooled coffee.
Step 7
Dip the cookies in coffee and arrange them in a single layer at the bottom of a 20x30 cm dish.
Step 8
Spread half of the mascarpone cream over the cookies. Top with a second layer of cookies, previously dipped in coffee. Cover with the remaining cream. Refrigerate the tiramisu for 4–8 hours.
Step 9
Before serving, dust the tiramisu with cocoa powder.
Step 10
Serve.
