Description

The cake is sandy, very tender, and crumbly. It is delicious both warm and cold.

Ingredients

  • Margarine 5 oz
  • Sugar 1½ cups
  • Chocolate eggs 2 pieces
  • Activated Baking Soda ¼ teaspoon
  • Wheat Flour 3½ cups
  • Jam 1 cup
  • Vanillin a pinch

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

For the dough, mix softened margarine or butter, the yolks of two eggs, and one cup of sugar.

Step 2

Add flour, baking soda, and vanillin, and rub until a fine crumb forms.

Step 3

Spread half of the dough into a mold, lightly press it down, and spread one cup of any seedless jam on top.

Step 4

Cover with the remaining dough and place in the oven.

Step 5

As soon as it browns, take the cake out of the oven and cover it with whipped meringue cream.

Step 6

For the cream, beat two egg whites with half a cup of sugar.

Step 7

Lower the heat and keep the cake in the oven until the meringue cream is browned.
