Tarte Tatin with Apples and Sugar
Ingredients
- Sugar 15 oz
- Pickled Apples 5 pieces
- Butter 0 oz
- Vanilla Ice Cream 5 oz
- Puff Pastry 20 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Peel the apples, remove the cores, and slice them thinly.
Step 2
In a dry skillet, melt the sugar and cook until light yellow.
Step 3
Add the apples to the caramel and stir after 1–2 minutes.
Step 4
Place the apples in a baking dish and pour the caramel over them. Cover with pastry, tucking in the edges. Poke with a fork in several places.
Step 5
Bake for 20 minutes in the oven at 355°F.
Step 6
Invert onto a plate. Allow to cool.
Step 7
Serve with a scoop of ice cream.
