Tart with Caramelized Onions and Olives
Ingredients
- Butter 1 tablespoon
- Olive Oil 2 tablespoons
- Onion 1 head
- Wheat Flour to taste
- Chopped Sage Leaves 2 tablespoons
- Puff Pastry 20 oz
- Pitted olives ¼ cup
- Anchovy fillet 6 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 430°F.
Step 2
Heat the butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and thyme and sauté until soft and golden, about 10 minutes.
Step 3
On a floured surface, roll out the pastry into a rectangle approximately 22x38 cm.
Step 4
Place the pastry on a parchment-lined baking sheet and put it in the oven, immediately reducing the temperature to 390°F. Bake for about 12 minutes, until the pastry begins to rise.
Step 5
Spread the onion evenly over the pastry, leaving a small border, then sprinkle with chopped olives and anchovies (if desired). Return to the oven for another 15 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 375°F and bake for another 15 minutes until cooked and golden.
Step 6
Cut into squares and serve.
