Description

Sweet buns can be made in any shape, but if you form them into hearts, they will be especially delightful to eat. The yeast dough needs to rise, so plan ahead!

  • Wheat Flour 20 oz
  • Water 10 fl oz
  • Sugar 5 oz
  • Dry yeast 0 oz
  • Butter 5 oz

Prepare the necessary ingredients.

In a large bowl, combine warm water, 100 grams of sugar, and yeast, and let it sit for 10 minutes. When bubbles appear on the surface, it means the yeast has activated.

Sift the flour into the same bowl, add 40 grams of softened butter, and knead the dough using a mixer with a dough hook attachment. The dough should pull away from the sides of the bowl.

Knead the prepared dough on the countertop, shape it into a ball, transfer it to a bowl greased with vegetable oil, cover with plastic wrap, and place it in a warm spot for 2 hours.

Knead the rested dough on a floured surface and divide it into ten equal parts.

Roll each piece into a rectangle, brush it with melted butter, and sprinkle with sugar.

Roll the rectangle along the long side into a log, fold the log in half, make a cut at the fold, and open it up to form a heart shape.

Place the sweet rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving 3–5 cm (about 1–2 inches) of space between them. Cover the rolls with a kitchen towel and let them rest for 30 minutes.
