Description
I recommend arranging the berries and sponge cake in the mold beforehand, and then immediately pouring the sour cream with gelatin over them, as the mixture thickens quickly and may not spread evenly later.
Ingredients
- Sour Cream 20 oz
- Sponge Cake Base 10 oz
- Gelatin 0 oz
- Fresh Berries 10 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Pour the gelatin into a small saucepan, add 0.5 cup of cold water, and let it sit for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, whip the sour cream with sugar.
Step 2
After 30 minutes, place the gelatin on the heat and warm it until fully dissolved (do not bring to a boil). Then, pour the sour cream into the gelatin in a thin stream, stirring constantly. Line a deep dish with plastic wrap, place halved strawberries and kiwis on the bottom, then a layer of broken sponge cake, followed by another layer of berries and another layer of sponge cake. Pour the sour cream and gelatin mixture over everything and place the mold in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
Step 3
Afterward, take the cake out of the refrigerator and carefully flip it onto a plate.
