Description

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for no more than 1 month.

Ingredients

  • Butter 10 oz
  • Brown Sugar 1 cup
  • Whole egg 1 piece
  • Vanilla salt 1 teaspoon
  • Candied fruits 5 oz
  • Grated Ginger Root ¼ teaspoon
  • Wheat Flour 1½ cups
  • Baking Powder ¼ teaspoon
  • Salt ½ teaspoon

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Finely chop the candied ginger.

Step 2

Preheat the oven to 375°F.

Step 3

Beat the butter and sugar with a mixer on medium speed. To ensure the sugar dissolves completely, it's better to add it in small portions.

Step 4

When the butter mixture becomes white and fluffy, add the yolk, vanilla, ground ginger, and beat again until smooth. Then add the chopped candied ginger and mix thoroughly with the mixer on low speed.

Step 5

Combine the flour, salt, and baking powder, and mix with the butter mixture. Bring the dough to a uniform consistency with the mixer on low speed.

Step 6

Scoop small portions of dough (about 1 teaspoon per cracker) onto a baking sheet, keeping a 3 cm interval. You should get about 50 crackers. Bake in the oven on the middle rack for 10-12 minutes.

Step 7

When the crackers turn golden, remove them from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes. Then, using a metal spatula, transfer the crackers to a plate in a single layer and wait for them to cool completely (about 45 minutes).
