Strawberry Dessert with Port Wine and Mascarpone
Ingredients
- Strawberry 25 oz
- Sugar ½ cup
- Red port 1¼ cups
- Mascarpone Cheese Unagrande 15 oz
- Vanilla salt ¼ cup
- Citrus Zest Mix ½ teaspoon
- Salt a pinch
- Meyer Lemon Juice 1 teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cut the strawberries in half lengthwise, sprinkle with sugar, and let sit for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 2
Strain the strawberries through a sieve. Place the berries in a container and refrigerate.
Step 3
Mix the strawberry juice with the port wine and simmer over medium heat until the liquid reduces to ⅔ cup (about 10 minutes).
Step 4
While the syrup cools, whip the mascarpone with vanilla sugar, salt, lemon juice, and zest, and distribute into dessert cups.
Step 5
Top the mascarpone with strawberries and drizzle with the port wine syrup. Optionally, sprinkle with grated chocolate.
