Description

Spicy Hot Chocolate with Churros

Ingredients

  • Milk 30 fl oz
  • Cayenne Pepper ¼ teaspoon
  • Cinnamon 1 piece
  • Bittersweet Chocolate 5 oz
  • Whole egg 4 pieces
  • Sugar to taste
  • Wheat Flour 15 oz
  • Water 10 fl oz
  • Chicken Egg 3 pieces
  • Vegetable Oil 15 fl oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Sift the flour.

Step 2

In a saucepan, combine water and milk and bring to a boil.

Step 3

Stir in the flour, actively mixing the dough with a spatula. The dough is ready when it no longer sticks to the sides of the saucepan.

Step 4

Remove from heat and let cool.

Step 5

Add the eggs and mix well again. The dough should not be too stiff, but not too runny either.

Step 6

Transfer the dough to a piping bag.

Step 7

Heat the oil in a pot.

Step 8

Pipe the dough from the bag directly into the pot with hot oil, either in the form of sticks or shaped like a horseshoe. Fry until golden brown.

Step 9

Remove the churros with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil, then roll them in sugar.

Step 10

Bring the milk to a boil along with the pepper and cinnamon.

Step 11

Add the broken chocolate pieces and stir until melted.

Step 12

Reduce the heat to low and gently whisk in the egg yolks.

Step 13

Pour the chocolate into cups and serve with churros.
