  • Farm fresh eggs 2 pieces
  • Self-rising flour 5 oz
  • Cocoa Powder 0 oz
  • Buttermilk 5 fl oz
  • Coffee Liqueur 2 teaspoons
  • Baking Powder ½ teaspoon
  • Butter 5 oz
  • Vegetable Oil 5 fl oz
  • Powdered Sugar 10 oz
  • Brown Sugar 10 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 355°F. Take the butter out of the refrigerator.

Step 2

Grease two 20-centimeter cake pans with butter and lightly dust with flour.

Step 3

In a bowl, combine brown sugar and vegetable oil, add eggs, and beat until the mixture lightens in color.

Step 4

Add buttermilk and espresso, and mix well.

Step 5

Sift the flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder into the bowl, and mix thoroughly.

Step 6

Divide the mixture evenly between the pans, smooth with a spatula, and bake for 20 minutes (until done).

Step 7

Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely.

Step 8

Sift powdered sugar into a bowl, and add finely chopped ginger.

Step 9

In a separate bowl, beat the butter for about 1 minute, gradually add powdered sugar, ginger, and coffee extract, continuing to beat.

Step 10

Spread two-thirds of the mixture over one cake layer, place the second layer on top, then add the remaining mixture. Top with grated chocolate.
