Ingredients

  • Butter 5 oz
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Vanilla salt ½ teaspoon
  • Egg white 1 piece
  • Cardamom ¼ teaspoon
  • Cinnamon ¼ teaspoon
  • Orange zest 1 piece
  • Wheat Flour 1 cup
  • Orange Blossom Water 1 tablespoon
  • Liquid dark chocolate 5 oz
  • Baking Powder ¼ teaspoon

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Beat the egg with sugar until smooth. While whisking, add the softened butter and orange oil (or zest). Sift the flour with the spices and baking powder, combine with the butter-egg mixture, add the broken dark chocolate pieces, and knead the dough.

Step 2

Shape the dough into a log on parchment paper, smoothing out any irregularities with a damp palm. Bake for 20 minutes at 170°C (340°F). While hot, cut the log into slices with a very sharp knife. Dry the slices in the oven for 15-20 minutes.
