Spelt Flour Bread
Ingredients
- Spelt 10 oz
- Salt 1 tablespoon
- Skim Milk 1 tablespoon
- Brown Sugar 2 spoons
- Vegetable Oil 1½ spoons
- Dry yeast 1 tablespoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Sift the flour with salt, then add the dry milk, sugar, and yeast, and mix well. Pour in the oil and 190 ml of warm water, stirring with a wooden spoon. Once the mixture begins to come together, knead the dough with your hands and continue kneading until it no longer sticks to the sides of the bowl.
Step 2
Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead for another ten minutes until it becomes soft and elastic. Shape the dough into a ball, coat a bowl with olive oil, and place the dough inside. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate it overnight.
Step 3
The next day, take the dough out, place it on a floured surface, and flatten it with your hands into a rectangle (based on the length of your bread baking pan). Fold the wide edges toward the center, wrap it in plastic wrap, and let it rest in the pan for thirty minutes.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to 430°F. Remove the plastic wrap from the dough and place it back into the greased baking pan, making sure to grease the sides and bottom with vegetable oil beforehand. Bake the bread for thirty minutes, then cool it on a wire rack and remove it from the pan.
