Ingredients
- Chicken Egg 2 pieces
- Butter 15 oz
- Sour Cream 10 oz
- Sugar 1½ cups
- Vanilla salt 0 oz
- Activated Baking Soda 1 teaspoon
- Egg white 1 piece
- Wheat Flour 25 oz
- Whole egg 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
For the dough, cut 250 grams of butter into the flour (about 400 grams) and rub it with your hands, then add the vanilla sugar (1 packet — 30 grams) and baking soda, and mix. Next, add two eggs and the egg white, and incorporate the sour cream. Mix thoroughly. Knead the dough until it doesn't stick to your hands; if necessary, add a little more flour.
Step 2
For the filling, mix the remaining flour (200 grams) with the butter (150 grams). Then add the sugar and vanilla sugar, and mix.
Step 3
Divide the dough into 3 parts. Roll each part out (about 3 mm thick) and evenly sprinkle with the filling. Roll up into a log and cut into small pieces.
Step 4
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the gata on it. Brush the top with the egg yolk diluted with milk. Bake in a preheated oven at 355°F until golden brown. Allow to cool.
