Soup with Boiled-Smoked Pork Belly and Millet

Ingredients

  • Salted pork belly 10 oz
  • Potato 5 oz
  • Millet 5 oz
  • Carrot 5 oz
  • Onion 5 oz
  • Dill 1 bunch
  • Passata Tomato Sauce 1 tablespoon
  • Water 25 fl oz
  • Vegetable Oil 2 tablespoons

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Place the pork belly in cold water and put the pot on the heat.

Step 2

Rinse the millet under hot water 3–5 times until visible impurities are removed.

Step 3

Cut the potato into strips.

Step 4

Grate the carrot on a coarse grater and finely chop the onion. Sauté in vegetable oil until golden brown.

Step 5

Remove the foam from the boiling water and add the millet to the pot.

Step 6

After 5 minutes, add the potato, season with salt to taste, and when it boils, reduce the heat.

Step 7

Then, after another 10 minutes, add the sautéed vegetables and tomato paste.

Step 8

Cook for another 5 minutes.

Step 9

Turn off the heat and serve with dill and dark bread.
