Description

Soft sugar buns

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour 15 oz
  • Milk 10 fl oz
  • Ghee 0 fl oz
  • Unrefined Sunflower Oil 0 fl oz
  • Sugar 5 oz
  • Dry yeast 0 oz
  • Salt to taste
  • Vanilla salt to taste
  • Chicken Egg 2 pieces

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1 Image

Step 1

In warm milk, add the yeast and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Allow the yeast to 'come to life.'

Step 2 Image

Step 2

After 10 minutes, the yeast will start to activate.

Step 3 Image

Step 3

Sift the flour to remove any unwanted impurities and enrich it with oxygen.

Step 4 Image

Step 4

In the sifted flour, add milk with yeast, eggs, salt, and another 2–3 tablespoons of sugar, along with vanilla sugar. Also, include 70 g of melted butter and refined sunflower oil.

Step 5 Image

Step 5

Knead a soft, elastic dough. Place it in a bowl, cover with a towel, and set it in a warm place.

Step 6 Image

Step 6

After 40–50 minutes, the dough will rise in volume.

Step 7 Image

Step 7

After the dough has risen, proceed to shape the pastries. Cut a piece from the dough.

Step 8 Image

Step 8

Then roll this piece out into a sheet. The thinner the sheet, the more layers the pastry will have, but this is a matter of personal preference. Spread soft butter over the sheet and sprinkle with sugar.

Step 9 Image

Step 9

Then roll it up from the wider side and pinch the ends together.

Step 10 Image

Step 10

Place the roll on its side and slice it, but not all the way through.

Step 11 Image

Step 11

Then unfold it to form a bun. Do the same with the remaining dough. The sugar that was sprinkled on the layer of dough ends up on the outside, giving the bun a sugary topping.

Step 12 Image

Step 12

Place the pastries in a baking dish, brush with egg yolk, and let them rest for about 25–30 minutes.

Step 13 Image

Step 13

Then place in an oven preheated to 345°F for about 30 to 35 minutes.
