Description

Soft chocolate cookies

Ingredients

  • Butter 0 oz
  • Brown Sugar 5 oz
  • Bittersweet Chocolate 5 oz
  • Wheat Flour 5 oz
  • Cocoa Powder 0 oz
  • Baking Powder ½ spoons
  • Salt ¼ spoons
  • Ground Cinnamon ¼ spoons
  • Ground clove a pinch
  • Chicken Egg 1 piece

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Melt the butter, chocolate, and sugar over low heat in a saucepan. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and allow it to cool (it's important that the mixture is not hot).

Step 2

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and cloves.

Step 3

When the chocolate mixture cools down, add the egg and stir until the ingredients are combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients in several stages. Wrap the resulting dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Step 4

Preheat the oven to 355°F and place two baking trays lined with parchment paper inside to heat.

Step 5

Remove the chilled dough from the refrigerator, and form balls with a diameter of 1.5 cm, placing them spaced apart. If the dough is crumbly (as mine was), warm each ball slightly in your hands until it becomes elastic, then shape it into a ball. Once you have placed all the balls, gently press each one down to create a sort of disc.

Step 6

Bake for 10–12 minutes, no longer. It may seem like a short time, but don’t worry; even if the cookies are still soft when you take them out of the oven, they will firm up a bit and reach the right consistency. In any case, it's better not to overbake.

Step 7

Cool and serve with a glass of milk or a cup of fragrant coffee.
