Description
Canned onions and tomatoes are a traditional Spanish seasoning that can be used as a standalone appetizer or added to other dishes.
Ingredients

- Tomatoes 6 pieces
- Olive Oil 10 fl oz
- Garlic 2 cloves
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Slice the onion into very thin half-rings, then chop it into small cubes. Grate the tomatoes (plum or medium-sized, about 100 grams each) until they reach a puree consistency, removing all the flesh beforehand with a spoon or knife.
Step 2
Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté the onions on the lowest heat for one and a half to two hours. After that, add the tomatoes and simmer for another twenty to thirty minutes; then add finely chopped garlic cloves and continue to simmer for another five minutes.
Step 3
Remove from heat, transfer to a jar, and seal it.
