Simple Chocolate Glaze
Baking and Desserts • European
Description
For a children's cake or cream puffs, you can add a bit of butter to the still warm chocolate sugar glaze and whip it with a mixer. This will soften the flavor of the glaze. Adapted from a popular cooking website.
Ingredients
- Cocoa Powder 2 tablespoons
- Sugar ½ cup
- Water 3 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Mix the sugar with the cocoa powder and add water.
Step 2
Stir well and place on the heat. Cook the glaze over low (very low) heat, stirring constantly.
Step 3
First, the sugar will dissolve, then the syrup will start to bubble.
Step 4
After bubbles appear, cook the glaze for another minute and remove from heat. Allow the glaze to cool and thicken significantly: when hot, it will be too runny, and when completely cooled, it will crystallize and harden.
