Shortcrust Pie with Jam
Ingredients
- Chicken Egg 2 pieces
- Wheat Flour 3 cups
- Butter 5 oz
- Sugar 1 cup
- Vanillin a pinch
- Baking Powder 1 teaspoon
- Jam to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Melt the butter (margarine can be used) and let it cool.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine the sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanillin, and mix well.
Step 3
Add the flour mixed with baking powder and knead the dough.
Step 4
Divide the dough into two unequal parts (1/3 and 2/3). Place the smaller part in the refrigerator. Evenly spread the larger part of the dough on a baking sheet.
Step 5
Spread a layer of jam on top of the dough and smooth it out with a spoon. Take the smaller part of the dough from the freezer and grate it over the jam.
Step 6
Place the pie in a preheated oven at 390°F (about 400 degrees Fahrenheit) and bake for 20–25 minutes.
