Shortcrust Pie with Bran and Apples
Baking and Desserts • European
Description
An interesting discovery was the bran, which, to be honest, was added simply because I ran out of flour. It turned out they added a nice tang to the flavor and a beautiful brown color. Now I will always include them. Also, using soft sweetened cottage cheese as a filling instead of apples is very delicious.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 0 lbs
- Bran 10 oz
- Margarine 10 oz
- Sugar 1½ cups
- Chocolate eggs 3 pieces
- Apple 6 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Take a large mixing bowl. Combine all the ingredients for the dough: flour, bran, then break in three eggs, add two packs of margarine and one cup of sugar. Then knead everything by hand until a crumbly shortcrust dough forms.
Step 2
Peel and grate the apples. Mix with half a cup of sugar; the filling is ready.
Step 3
Pour half of the dough onto a baking sheet and spread it out evenly with your hands. Then evenly distribute the filling on top. Finally, sprinkle the remaining dough over the filling.
Step 4
Place in the oven for 45 minutes at 390°F.
