Shortbread Strips
Ingredients
- Butter 10 oz
- Farm fresh eggs 2 pieces
- Sugar 1 cup
- Wheat Flour 2 cups
- Activated Baking Soda a pinch
- Chocolate 5 oz
- Jam to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Soften the butter (200 grams) and cream it with sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, whisking the mixture. Gradually add the flour and baking soda, and knead the dough.
Step 2
Spread the dough evenly on a baking sheet. There is no need to grease the baking sheet with oil or dust it with flour, as the prepared shortbread dough does not stick. Bake at 355°F for about 15 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
Step 3
Cool the baked dough and cut it into an even number of equal rectangles. Spread jam on the rectangles and fold them in pairs with the jam inside.
Step 4
In a water bath, melt 50 grams of butter and 100 grams of chocolate, stirring until smooth, and cover the strips with the chocolate glaze.
