Shortbread cookies with poppy seeds
Ingredients
- Butter 5 oz
- Sugar ½ cup
- Wheat Flour 2 cups
- Egg white 1 piece
- Activated Baking Soda ½ teaspoon
- Poppy seed paste 5 oz
- Vanilla salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cream the softened butter with sugar, add the egg, baking soda (dissolved in vinegar), vanilla, and flour. Knead a soft, non-sticky dough.
Step 2
Roll the dough into 2 balls and refrigerate for half an hour.
Step 3
Pour a handful of poppy seeds onto the table. Roll each piece of dough in the poppy seeds, slightly flatten, and cut into slices.
Step 4
Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10 minutes at 355°F.
