Seaweed Soup (Miyeokguk)
Ingredients
- Beef 5 oz
- Dried Nori Seaweed 1 piece
- Sesame Oil 1 tablespoon
- Water 15 fl oz
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
- Soy Sauce 1 tablespoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Soak the seaweed in cold water for 5 minutes until it becomes soft. Rinse and cut into pieces of 2–4 cm.
Step 2
Slice the beef as for beef stroganoff.
Step 3
In a pot over medium heat, sauté the beef with garlic, add soy sauce, and cook for about 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Step 4
Add the sliced seaweed and cook for another 3 minutes, stirring.
Step 5
Pour in the water, cover the pot, and bring to a boil.
Step 6
Reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Season to taste with ground black pepper and salt.
Step 7
Serve with rice.
