Seaweed Bread
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- Unbleached flour crackers 10 oz
- Salt to taste
- Water 10 fl oz
- Dry yeast 0 oz
- Wakame Seaweed 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Soak the seaweed in water and wait until it becomes soft.
Step 2
Mix both types of flour, rub in the yeast until it forms fine crumbs. Add salt, water, seaweed, and knead the dough. Shape the dough into a ball, cover it, and let it rest for 1 hour.
Step 3
Place the dough on a surface, shape it into a ball again, and cover it. Let it rest for another 45 minutes.
Step 4
On a floured surface, shape the dough into a loaf. Place it on a baking sheet lined with a towel and dusted with flour, seam side down, and let it rest for 1 hour.
Step 5
Preheat the oven to 480°F.
Step 6
Transfer the loaf onto an inverted baking sheet and make a slash on top.
Step 7
Spray the oven walls with water from a spray bottle, place the loaf inside, and bake for about 45 minutes.
