Description
Savory Pie with Eggs and Green Onions
Ingredients
- Butter 5 oz
- Sugar 2 spoons
- Kefir 15 fl oz
- Chicken Egg 7 pieces
- Activated Baking Soda a pinch
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- Scallions 5 oz
- Salt to taste
- Sunflower Seeds to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients. Take the butter out of the refrigerator in advance.
Step 2
Prepare the filling. Boil 3 eggs hard, cool them down, and chop into small cubes.
Step 3
Chop the green onions.
Step 4
Melt 30 grams of butter in a skillet and lightly sauté the green onions in it.
Step 5
Mix the onion with the chopped eggs and season with salt to taste. Cover and refrigerate.
Step 6
For the dough, whisk 3 eggs with salt and sugar.
Step 7
Dissolve the baking soda in the kefir and combine it with the beaten eggs.
Step 8
Gradually add 270 grams of sifted flour. It's easier to incorporate it with a whisk at first, and then switch to a spoon.
Step 9
Incorporate 150 grams of softened butter into the dough, mixing it until it reaches the consistency of thick sour cream. Allow the dough to rest for a couple of minutes (but not longer, or it will dry out and form a crust).
Step 10
Grease the pan well with the remaining butter and dust it with the remaining flour.
Step 11
Spread half of the dough into the mold (it's easier with a spoon, but you can also pour it in). Distribute the filling evenly over the dough.
Step 12
Cover the filling with the remaining half of the dough and place it in a preheated oven at 355°F for 20 minutes.
Step 13
Beat an egg and brush it over the top of the risen pie. If desired, sprinkle the pie with seeds. Return the pie to the oven for another 20 minutes or until the crust is a deep golden brown.
Step 14
Let the finished pie cool on a wire rack for 10–15 minutes.
Step 15
Serve the jellied pie warm or chilled.
