Description
To make savoiardi, it is very important that the batter is thick and airy. Instead of using a pastry bag, you can use a clean plastic bag. Fill it with the batter and cut off a corner of your desired size.
Ingredients
- Sugar 5 oz
- Chicken Egg 3 pieces
- Wheat Flour 5 oz
- Salt to taste
- Butter 0 oz
- Powdered Sugar 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Step 2
Whisk the egg yolks and 75 grams of sugar until frothy.
Step 3
Gradually add 75 grams of sifted flour, mix well, and season with salt. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the yolk mixture, combining them carefully.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to 300°F. Grease a baking tray with oil and dust it with flour. Fill a piping bag with the dough (the diameter of the opening should be about 14 mm). Pipe out 10 cm long sticks onto the baking tray.
Step 5
Mix the powdered sugar with the remaining sugar. Sprinkle half of this mixture over the cookies.
Step 6
Wait for 10 minutes until the sugar dissolves, then sprinkle the cookies with the remaining sugar mixture. Wait for 2 minutes, then place them in the oven. Bake the cookies until golden brown.
