Step 1
Sort the sauerkraut, and if it is very sour, rinse it, scald with boiling water, chop finely, place in a pot, add melted butter or vegetable oil, and simmer covered until ready.
Step 2
Separately, sauté the finely chopped onion in oil, add finely chopped cooked mushrooms, salt, and pepper; sauté everything for 3–4 minutes and mix with the sauerkraut.
