Description
The energy value of the entire loaf of bread is 1100 kcal. Rye flour can be fully or partially replaced with wheat or whole grain flour.
Ingredients
- Coarsely Ground Rye Flour 5 oz
- Wheat Flour 0 oz
- Kefir 5 fl oz
- Vegetable Oil 0 fl oz
- Activated Baking Soda 1 teaspoon
- Salt ½ teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a deep bowl, combine the wheat flour and rye flour.
Step 2
Add the baking soda and salt. Optionally, you can add any flavorings, such as caraway seeds or dried herbs.
Step 3
Mix the dry ingredients and make a well in the center.
Step 4
Pour the kefir into this well.
Step 5
Add the refined vegetable oil.
Step 6
Mix everything first with a spoon. Then knead the dough by hand, rolling it into a ball. Slightly flatten the dough ball on top and make a crosswise cut.
Step 7
Place the prepared dough on a greased baking sheet. Optionally, sprinkle the top of the future loaf with wheat flour.
Step 8
Bake the bread in a preheated oven at 180-390°F for approximately 30-40 minutes. Allow the finished bread to cool completely before serving.
