Description

I usually make this soup during spring hunting trips. Simple, quick, and delicious. A little trick — when transferring the onions to the pot, place 1 tablespoon of onions on 1 piece of black bread, take a bite of 50 grams, and enjoy this wonder. Only this way can you achieve the wonderful organoleptic properties of our soup.

Ingredients

  • Onion 20 oz
  • Butter 0 oz
  • Sliced Processed Cheese 2 pieces
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Place the pot with water on the fire and start peeling and chopping the onions. In camping conditions, it's just onions. At home, you can get fancy with shallots and leeks. But during hunting, onions are just onions.

Step 2

Throw a piece of butter onto a hot skillet and add the onions. Season with salt and pepper, cover with a lid, and move to the edge of the fire (or reduce the heat to low). The onions should simmer for about 15 minutes.

Step 3

Meanwhile, the water in the pot has boiled. This is very good. You can take the pre-prepared 2 pieces of 'Friendship' processed cheese, chop them up, and add them to the pot. If you have a choice of which brand of cheese to buy, choose the thicker one. Thin cheeses tend not to dissolve at all. While the onions are frying, our task is to completely dissolve the cheese in the boiling water. If we don't do this, a layer of burnt cheese at the bottom is guaranteed.

Step 4

Transfer the onions from the skillet to the pot and keep it on medium heat for another 5–10 minutes. That's it. The soup is ready. Serve in bowls and sprinkle with chopped cilantro.
