Ingredients

  • Whole egg 5 pieces
  • Egg white 1 piece
  • Sugar 1 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Vodka 1 tablespoon
  • Activated Baking Soda a pinch
  • Wheat Flour 35 oz
  • Vegetable Oil 0 qt
  • Powdered Sugar 3 tablespoons

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Beat the yolks and the egg white with a fork. Add vodka, salt, sugar, baking soda, and flour. Knead a stiff dough.

Step 2

Roll out a large flatbread as thin as possible. Use 2–3 glasses of different diameters to cut the dough. Make shallow cuts in a circle on each resulting round piece with a knife.

Step 3

Assemble the rosantsy. To do this, place the smaller flatbread on top of the larger one and press your finger in the very center of the flatbread. The flatbreads will stick together at the center.

Step 4

Heat the vegetable oil and start frying the rosantsy. The oil should fill more than half of the container.

Step 5

Drop the rosantsy into the hot oil. Use a slotted spoon to immerse the dough vertically and hold it. When the rosantsy starts to turn pink, which will take no more than a minute, carefully remove it from the pot. Allow excess fat to drain and transfer the item to a plate to cool.

Step 6

Fry all the rosantsy. Transfer to a large dish and sprinkle each rosantsy with powdered sugar.
