Rolls with Sausage Cheese
Ingredients
- Smoked cheese sauce 10 oz
- Salt ½ teaspoon
- Vegetable Oil 7 tablespoons
- Milk ¾ cup
- Dry yeast 1½ teaspoons
- Sugar 2 teaspoons
- Wheat Flour 2½ cups
- Mustard Greens 1 tablespoon
- Garlic 1 clove
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Dissolve the yeast in warm water, add sugar. Let it sit for a few minutes until foam forms.
Step 2
Grate the cheese on a fine grater. Add flour, salt, and a clove of garlic (or press the clove through a garlic press). Mix by hand until crumbly.
Step 3
Pour in the vegetable oil and mustard. Then add the dissolved yeast. Knead into a soft dough. If necessary, add a little more flour or vegetable oil. The dough should not be sticky. It should pull away from your hands but not be stiff.
Step 4
Form the dough into small rolls — 15 pieces. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 5
Let the rolls rise for 1 hour.
Step 6
Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds (poppy seeds or sunflower seeds). Bake in a preheated oven until golden brown for 35–40 minutes at 355°F.
Step 7
Brush the hot rolls with butter.
Step 8
Cover with a towel and let rest for 30 minutes.
