Rich croutons with walnuts
Ingredients
- Farm fresh eggs 3 pieces
- Sugar 1 cup
- Activated Baking Soda ½ teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Margarine 10 oz
- Wheat Flour 3 cups
- Chopped almonds 1 cup
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 390°F. Cut the margarine into cubes.
Step 2
Beat the eggs with sugar, add baking soda, salt, softened margarine, and mix well.
Step 3
Add two cups of flour and stir. Gradually add the third cup of flour while continuing to mix the dough.
Step 4
Add the walnuts. Knead the dough, shape it into a log, and divide it into three equal parts.
Step 5
Sprinkle a clean baking sheet with a small amount of flour. Place the dough on it and bake in the oven for 25–30 minutes.
Step 6
Without turning off the oven, remove the croutons and let them cool. Cut into 1 cm slices and dry them in the oven for another 5 minutes.
Step 7
Turn off the oven and let the croutons sit for another 15 minutes.
