
Rice with Mushrooms and Ham

Wild mushrooms have a rich flavor; it's better not to add spices.
Ingredients
- Parboiled and wild rice blend 1 cup
- Aspen mushrooms 2 pieces
- Ham 5 oz
- Onion 1 piece
- Salt to taste
- Vegetable Oil 4 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Boil the mushrooms in salted water (1 cup for 20 minutes). Drain in a colander. Strain the broth.
Step 2
Sauté the onion in vegetable oil, add the rice, and continue to sauté while stirring until the rice becomes translucent.
Step 3
Chop the mushrooms and add them to the rice. Pour in the broth. Reduce the heat to low and cover.
Step 4
When the broth reduces by half, add the diced ham and cook covered until the broth completely evaporates. The rice will turn out fluffy.
