Description
Quince Jam with Walnuts
Ingredients
- Quince 0 lbs
- Walnuts 10 oz
- Sugar 25 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Thoroughly wash the quince under running water, cut it into four parts, and remove the core.
Step 3
Cut the prepared quince into wedges. If necessary, wash again under running water.
Step 4
Place the sliced quince into a pot where the jam will be cooked.
Step 5
Add sugar to the pot with quince. Mix the sugar well with the quince and let it sit for an hour at room temperature to allow the quince to release its juice.
Step 6
Wash the jars well with baking soda and sterilize them by your preferred method.
Step 7
If the quince has released too little juice, add about 100 ml of water. Place the pot with quince on the heat, bring to a boil, and simmer over medium heat for about 15 minutes. Allow the jam to cool to room temperature. Repeat the boiling process two more times.
Step 8
Shell the walnuts and chop them if desired.
Step 9
Add the prepared walnuts to the pot with quince, bring to a boil, and simmer over medium heat for about 15 minutes. Allow the jam to cool to room temperature and repeat the boiling process once more.
Step 10
Pour the hot quince and walnut jam into clean, dry jars. Seal or cap the jars with a metal lid. Allow to cool to room temperature. Store in a cool place.
