Description
Quince Jam with Lemon Juice
Ingredients
- Quince 0 lbs
- Meyer Lemon Juice 5 tablespoons
- Sugar 20 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Thoroughly wash the quince under running water, cut it into four parts, and remove the core.
Step 3
Cut the prepared quince into wedges.
Step 4
Place the sliced quince into a pot where the jam will be cooked.
Step 5
Add sugar to the pot with the quince. Mix the sugar well with the quince and let it sit for an hour at room temperature to allow the quince to release its juice.
Step 6
Wash the jars thoroughly with baking soda and sterilize them using a convenient method.
Step 7
If the quince has released too little juice, add about 50 ml of water. Place the pot with the quince on the heat, bring to a boil, and simmer over medium heat for about 15 minutes. Allow the jam to cool at room temperature.
Step 8
Repeat the boiling and cooling process three more times.
Step 9
Extract the juice from the lemon using any convenient method. Add 5 tablespoons of lemon juice to the jam 5 minutes before turning off the heat.
Step 10
Pour the hot quince jam with lemon juice into clean, dry jars. Seal or screw on the lids. Allow to cool at room temperature. Store in a cool place.
