Quince Dessert (Turkish Quince in Syrup)
Ingredients
- Quince 5 pieces
- Sugar 10 oz
- Water 5 fl oz
- Cinnamon 2 teaspoons
- Ground clove 5 pieces
- Cahors 5 fl oz
- Sour Cream to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Peel the quince, cut it in half. Remove the cores, keeping the seeds.
Step 2
Boil the removed skins along with the seeds in a small amount of water (reduce to 240 ml).
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 390°F, place the quince halves cut side up on a baking sheet lined with foil, sprinkle sugar into each half, and drizzle with two tablespoons of wine. Wrap the fruits in foil and pour the water from the skins and seeds onto the baking sheet. Place in the oven for one to one and a half hours (the quince should become soft). Five minutes before it's done, unwrap the foil and brown the cut sides.
Step 4
Serve with rich sour cream.
