Quick Vanilla Pudding
Baking and Desserts • European
Description
This dessert is very similar to store-bought puddings like those from 'Cott' and similar brands. Instead of vanilla sugar, you can use vanillin or any other flavoring. Feel free to experiment with various syrups, cocoa, and anything else your imagination allows. You can also come up with diverse decorations—drizzling with sauces or sprinkling with vanilla crumbs. You can also cook the pudding in a saucepan on the stove over low heat.
Ingredients
- Milk 10 fl oz
- Whole egg 1 piece
- Vanilla salt 0 oz
- Sugar 3 teaspoons
- Wheat Flour 1 tablespoon
- Crushed Vanilla Wafers 4 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Mix the milk with sugar and vanilla sugar. Sweet tooths may need more than 3 teaspoons of sugar.
Step 2
Lightly beat the yolk with a fork. We don't need foam; the main thing is to achieve uniformity. Add the yolk to the milk.
Step 3
Carefully sift the flour in while constantly stirring. If lumps appear, break them up with a spoon. There shouldn't be any lumps.
Step 4
Mix the mixture well and vigorously, then immediately place it in the microwave (the flour shouldn't have time to settle) for 4–5 minutes. Stop the microwave every 30 seconds to stir the milk mixture. Cook until thickened. When the mixture thickens, remove it, let it cool, and place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Step 5
For serving, take bowls, crumble the vanilla wafers at the bottom (a layer about the thickness of a finger), then add the pudding, and sprinkle more wafer crumbs on top.
