Quick Meat Pie
Ingredients
- Ground meat 20 oz
- Puff Pastry 2 pieces
- Onion 1 piece
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Chicken Egg 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Take the pastry out of the freezer and let it thaw. I usually take a pack with two sheets, as it's easier to thaw.
Step 2
In vegetable oil, sauté the onion, then add the ground meat.
Step 3
Season with salt and pepper, and you can add herbs (parsley, cilantro) and other spices to taste.
Step 4
Cook for about 5–7 minutes. Be sure to keep the broth that forms.
Step 5
Roll out the pastry into two equal sheets, placing the first sheet on a baking tray that has been greased with oil.
Step 6
It's better to slightly raise the edges of the pastry to prevent the juices from leaking out.
Step 7
Spread the ground meat on top, and you can sprinkle grated cheese over it. Pour the remaining broth (not too much, just for juiciness) on top.
Step 8
Cover with the second sheet of pastry and tightly pinch the edges, preferably with the seam facing up.
Step 9
Brush with beaten egg.
Step 10
Place in a well-preheated oven for about 10–15 minutes, until a golden crust forms.
