Description

At my home, this pie gets eaten quickly, in one sitting. I barely managed to take a photo. It's the perfect recipe for those in a hurry or when guests are at the door. The main thing is not to cut too many fruits for the filling so that it bakes well inside.

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour 2 cups
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Margarine 5 oz
  • Chocolate eggs 2 pieces
  • Sour Cream 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

The dough is made by mixing the liquid ingredients separately, the dry ingredients separately, and then combining everything together. Melt the margarine until it reaches a liquid consistency.

Step 2

In a mixer, combine the melted margarine, sour cream, and eggs.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, be sure to sift the flour.

Step 4

Mix the flour with the sugar and baking powder.

Step 5

Now combine the liquid ingredients with the dry ones.

Step 6

Pour more than half of the dough into a greased baking tray or baking dish and add the filling. Ideally, according to my mom's recipe, you should add pitted cherries for a sweet and sour taste, but since I didn't have cherries, I added what I had in the fridge: a few pieces of pear, apple, and plum. The more fruits you add, the more juice they will release inside the pie! When cut, this pie looks beautiful with contrasting fruits (for example, plum, blackberry, currant, cherry, as the dough itself is white inside).

Step 7

Pour the remaining half of the dough over the filling.

Step 8

My oven is set to 535°F. Place the pie in a well-heated oven for 20–30 minutes, depending on your oven. Usually, to prevent the pie from burning, I bake it for about 20 minutes, then turn off the oven, cover the pie with a lid, and let it continue cooking in the oven for about 10 minutes. I check the pie for doneness with a toothpick. Let the pie cool, and then you can invite everyone to have tea.
