
Pumpkin Pie

Description
The pumpkins have ripened perfectly — and here comes the traditional Bulgarian pumpkin pie.
Ingredients
- Pumpkin 0 lbs
- Phyllo Dough 20 oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Ground Cinnamon to taste
- Walnuts 5 oz
- Butter 5 oz
- Whole egg 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Peel the pumpkin and grate it using a coarse grater.
Step 2
Chop the nuts finely.
Step 3
Lay a sheet of phyllo dough on the table and brush it with melted butter. Place another sheet of dough on top and brush it with butter as well.
Step 4
Sprinkle some grated pumpkin over the dough, then add a bit of nuts, cinnamon, and sugar on top.
Step 5
Roll the dough into a log, tucking in the sides to keep the filling from spilling out.
Step 6
Grease a round baking pan with vegetable oil.
Step 7
Arrange the resulting sausage in a spiral shape in the center of the mold.
Step 8
Repeat the process several times. Lay each new sausage down as an extension of the previous one. In the end, you should have one large spiral that resembles a snail.
Step 9
Brush the pie with a lightly beaten egg yolk, then sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
Step 10
Place in the oven preheated to 355°F for 30-40 minutes.
