Pumpkin juice
Ingredients
- Pumpkin 5 lbs
- Oranges 4 pieces
- Sugar 10 oz
- Citric Acid 1 tablespoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients. Sterilize the juice jars over steam on the stove or in the microwave.
Step 2
Cut the pumpkin into small pieces, place them in a pot, and cover with cold water so that it fully submerges the pumpkin.
Step 3
Boil the pumpkin until tender, occasionally skimming off the foam.
Step 4
Juice the oranges until you have about 200 ml of juice. If you have more, that's fine; if you have less, it's better to squeeze a bit more.
Step 5
Blend the pumpkin with water.
Step 6
Add orange juice.
Step 7
Add citric acid and sugar. Stir and return to the heat.
Step 8
Bring to a boil and simmer on low heat, skimming off any foam occasionally, for 15 minutes.
Step 9
Pour the juice into jars and seal them with sterilized lids.
Step 10
Open the juice when inspiration strikes to make a smoothie, pumpkin panna cotta, cheesecake, or any other dish.
