Ingredients
- Butter 0 oz
- Puff Pastry 20 oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Pears 2 pieces
- Cardamom to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cut the pear into 4 pieces, peel and remove the seeds.
Step 2
Melt the sugar (caramelize) in a preheated 20 cm skillet. Add the butter and melt it. Season the caramel with ground cardamom.

Remove the skillet from the heat and arrange the pear slices in a circle.
Step 4
Cover the pears with a circle of puff pastry.
Step 5
Fold the edges of the pastry inward to create a border.
Step 6
Make a hole in the center for steam to escape.
Step 7
Prick the surface of the pastry all over with a fork to prevent it from rising during baking.
Step 8
Place the pie in a preheated oven at 390°F. After 10 minutes of baking, reduce the temperature to 355°F. Bake the pie until golden brown.
Step 9
Invert the finished pie onto a plate.
Step 10
Decorate the pie with berries, mint leaves, and powdered sugar. Serve with berry jam — the pie is ready.
