Description
You can prepare puff pastry in advance by freezing it in portions.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 20 oz
- Salt a pinch
- Egg white 1 piece
- Water 1 cup
- Sugar ½ teaspoon
- Butter 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Beat the egg slightly with sugar and salt. Pour in warm water and mix everything thoroughly.
Step 2
Gradually add the flour to the egg in small portions and knead a not too stiff dough (but ensure it doesn't stick to your hands). Roll the resulting dough into a rectangular shape.
Step 3
Slightly soften the butter and spread it on top of the dough. Fold the dough in half and pinch the edges to prevent the butter from leaking out.
Step 4
Roll the dough into a thin layer, fold it in half again, and roll it out once more.
Step 5
Repeat this process several times — the more times you roll the dough, the flakier it will become.
Step 6
Place the finished dough in the refrigerator.
